Come join us for an escalation league, focused on a more casual experience, and an ideal introduction to the world of organised gaming.
Escalation leagues are played in a similar manner to a normal league, where each player in a division plays every other player. We are running with 6 players per division, so each player will play five games.
In an escalation league, each game is played with a larger army than the previous one, so it’s perfect for players who want to ease themselves gently into competitive play, or who need some time to build an army.
Gameplay is broken into five brackets, each of which has a duration of two weeks, to give players plenty of time to arrange a suitable date and time for their game.
The brackets will be played with the following size of armies:
A fixture table for each division will be published in the week before play starts. It is left up to individual pairs of players to arrange a suitable date and time for their match which must take place at The Vault Gaming Hall during the two-week window assigned for that bracket.
The recommended forum is our Community Group on Facebook. This is also where fixture tables and any updates will be posted.
You may play your match at any time during the two-week bracket. Although Wednesday evenings are our organised Warhammer nights, you are welcome to play whenever suits you both.
If you need to arrange a match outside our normal opening hours, please get in touch with us with as much notice as possible and we will make every effort to open up for you.
If you are a Gold Club member, league entry is included in your membership fees. Just add a ticket to your basket and when you get to the checkout it will be free!
If you are not a Gold Club Member, then you just pay the ticket price advertised. The ticket price includes all five of your games, as well as free entry (normally a £5 guest fee) to Wednesday evenings during the league, where you are welcome to play friendlies.
The only additional cost would be if you need to rent an army or figures, which would be subject to the usual pricing,
Rules will be based on the current Pariah Nexus tournament ruleset (Download Here) with some modifications.
Due to the casual nature of this particular league, we will be removing the 10 points awarded for playing a painted army.
This will result in a maximum of 90 Victory Points being available to score in each match.
League points are decided based on match outcomes:
Should a player not show up for an arranged match, they will be awarded a Loss and 0VP, and the other player awarded a Draw and 1VP.
Missing more than one fixture will result in that player being unable to place in the final top 3 places.
The final positions for each division will be based on League Points. Victory points will still be logged however.
In the event of a tied position in the final rankings, the winner will be decided by the highest score from the match played between the tied players.
Because we need six players to form a complete division, any shortfall in a division by the signup cutoff time will be filled by staff members.
Each division will be treated as a separate entity with its own winner etc.
